Editorial standards

Our readers trust Travel The Mag to be accurate, useful and honest. These standards apply to everything we publish, including articles from contributors.

What we look for

Hosted travel

When a trip, stay or experience is hosted or discounted by a partner, the article says so. Partners never approve what we write.

Use of AI tools

AI tools may help with research or editing, but the ideas, experience and final wording must be the author's own, and the author is responsible for every fact. AI-generated images must never be presented as real photographs.

Links

Links must be relevant and genuinely useful to readers. Editors may remove or change links, and we limit links to the author's own business.

Images

Images should be high resolution (ideally 1600 pixels wide or more) and you must own them or have permission to use them. Include a photo credit where one is required.

Editing and decisions

Our editors may edit any piece for clarity, length, accuracy and style. Submitting an article does not guarantee publication, and we contact authors only when we decide to move forward.

Transparency

Sponsored and partner content is always clearly labelled. Errors are corrected promptly. To report one, please contact our editors.
